Xero has announced they’re launching a new line-up of business plans, as well as upcoming pricing changes for business plan subscriptions in the UK.
From 12 September 2024, Xero is launching three new streamlined business plans: Ignite, Grow and Comprehensive. They will also be enhancing the Ultimate plan in the UK.
The three new plans will replace the Starter, Standard and Premium plans which will no longer be available from 12 September 2024.
These new simplified plans are designed to provide you with easier access to the tools to help run your business efficiently.
That means fewer add-ons, as more key features are included in plans.
The price of any optional add-ons you may currently have as part of your subscription does not change.
Let’s delve into these upcoming changes a bit more.
More Features, Less Complexity:
Xero is introducing brand new business plans – Ignite, Grow, and Comprehensive. Each plan offers a wider range of features at competitive prices. This means you’ll have access to the tools you need to manage your finances effectively, without the hassle of managing separate add-ons.
Features like Xero Payroll, Xero Expenses, Xero Projects, Analytics Plus, and bill payments are now included in these plans. Xero Payroll streamlines your payroll process, saving you time and ensuring accuracy. Xero Expenses simplifies expense management for you and your employees, while Xero Projects helps you track project costs and stay on budget. Analytics Plus provides valuable insights into your financial data, empowering you to make data-driven decisions. Bill payments allow you to conveniently pay your bills directly through Xero, improving cash flow management.
The Ultimate plan is also getting a boost with Xero Expenses and Xero Projects for up to 10 people (up from 5) and 15 free bill payments per month. This expanded capacity is ideal for businesses with growing teams or complex financial needs.
A Smooth Transition:
We understand change can be confusing. Xero will be migrating users to the new plans in phases starting in September. The majority of clients will receive more features for the same or even less than their current plan. This means you’ll get access to enhanced functionality without an increase in cost, or potentially even a reduction. The migration will be completed by March 2025.
What to Expect:
Once you’re on a new plan, your previous plan will no longer be available. However, Xero is ensuring a smooth transition.
They will provide you with at least 60 days’ notice before any migration happens, including details on your new plan options. This ample notice period allows you time to ask questions, understand the new features, and feel comfortable with the transition.
There will be a slight price increase for Starter, Standard, and Premium plans after September 12th. Xero understands the importance of cost-effectiveness and believes the new plans offer significant value for the additional features you’ll receive.

Xero is committed to making this transition smooth and hassle-free and of course team Linford Grey will be on hand to assist where we can. Obviously this is also news to all of us but we will do our best to assist.
